Joining the Darkside

I have finally broke down and started to use Firefox. I know I will be hearing a bunch of harassment from some of my friends and family that have been trying to convert me for god only knows how long, but hey, at least I am willing to admit it publicly. I’ve had it on my pc’s for quite some time now so I could view my webpages that I create. For some unknown reason I started using it yesterday and the tab system has me hooked. I have already run into a few things that I can’t do in Firefox but overall I really like the tabs. We’ll see if it lasts. I used Firefox undercover a few months ago for a few days and got tired of it, so I can’t promise that I will not revert back to my evil Internet Explorer ways.

Brought a tear to my eye

Today I was reading a website about a land purchase for a new school in the city I am moving to. Apparently the land owner feels like he is getting the shaft (Check it out) and put up a website to portray that to the people of the community. I went to http://www.ranchomurieta.com to read the story that he was basing most of his aurgument against so that I could get both sides of the story. When I got there I noticed a story about High Def cable service being offered in my neighborhood. This caught my attention because I knew that Surewest was biding on bringing fiber to the home in that area and I am sooooo happy with my service and am actually a little reluctant to move because of it. So I went into the article in a good mood. Right up to the point of reading this, “Committee members say the option to replace the system with fiber-to-the-home is dead…” That just about brought me to my knees. The only part that gives a glimmer of hope is the rest of the sentance, “…but it will be included along with other options when the committee makes a presentation to the board in April.” The future of my internet connection seems dim. 🙁

Re-installing the OS…again

I have redone my OS several times in the last few weeks becuase of new hardware. Recently I put a new motherboard in and I decided to go with the Microsoft X64 version since I got it for free from this AMD show I went to awhile ago. So between the mobo and the OS I’m not sure where my random game crashes and other various problems are coming from. So I’m going to redo my OS yet again tommorrow back to the 32 bit version of windows so that I can rule out any driver related issuse with the 64 bit version. If at that point I continue with the problems I’ll be packing this mobo up and searching for a new one. I’ll let ya all know what happens.

Drywall is up !!!

drywall.jpg We went up to the house last weekend to show some of our freinds the place and surrounding area. While we were there we found out that the drywall has been installed. During the building of our current home we had a walk through before they sheet rocked which was cool becuase you had a chance to ask to move an outlet or the placement of your surround speakers, etc. Apparantly that wasn’t the case with this house which sux a little becuase I was going to try and squeeze in a few more phone lines. Oh well. None-the-less it was really cool to see the house. We had forgotten they way some of the walls were shaped and the way the home looked with walls. During the building of our current house we had the model to walk through the entire time our house was being built to measure walls, or think about design ideas. With this house the models are already all sold so we just have the memory of the two times we got to walk through the model before. I’m not looking forward to moving because that is going to be a chore, but I am excited to move into our new house!

AMF(L) Reunion Site

amfl.gif Well I put the AMF(L) site up about a month ago and we have got more of a response to the site then what I expected. There are a bunch of people on there that I figured I would never talk to again. I realize that everyone won’t be able to go to the reunion that we are trying to put together but it’s really nice having a place that people can keep in contact. It’s also been fun seeing everyones pics from back then and now. I’m really greatful that the guys contacted me. It’s going to be a lot of fun. If you want to check out the site here is the link: Http://amfl.g33k.net It’s also under the Friends section on the left navbar of this page.

Battlefield 2: Special Forces

bf2sf.jpg I finally broke down and bought the Battlefield 2: Special Forces Expansion Pack. Even though it was $30 I am pretty happy with it. There are a bunch of new weapons that I can use in BF2, as well as new maps in SF and some new tools too. They have a flashbang now which is way worse then getting flashed in CS:S. We have been playing a lot of BF2 lately because since the last CS patch I haven’t been able to play CS without crashing. Plus I was getting tired of it a little. I really like BF2 because it reminds of RTCW and ET which I played for a long time. None-the-less if you don’t have it, get it. It’s worth it.
