San Jose for a week

After getting back from up north on Sunday morning I had to wash the clothes, repack the suitcase, and set the alarm clock for 4:30am so I could make it to my Altiris training class in San Jose by 8am.
So after sitting in traffic for about an hour I remembered why I didn’t like the Bay Area or the idiots who decided to get in an accident the morning that I was driving through Livermore. I barely made it to my class on time. The “free” breakfast that came with the class turned out to be a muffin and coffee. Honestly, that didn’t really bother me much because it was better then the nothing that I would have normally ate.
The real kicker of the trip is the internet connection at the hotel I’m staying at. I was planning on getting a lot of work done this week and unfortunately the connection here is just about as good as dialup. That makes my VPN worthless…and all the work I need to get done will continue to stack up. I was really hoping to be able to spend this week knocking out a bunch of time consuming projects for work. A nice quite hotel room with a high speed internet connection is what I was expecting, however I’m just getting the quite room. Maybe it will get better as the night gets later and people stop surfing the net here. I’ll let you know. If the next time you see me I am bald you will know that I pulled all my hair out here dealing with this connection.

Thanksgiving Trip

I had some work to do at our Eugene and Portland, OR offices and scheduled it so that it would fall during the holiday week. This worked out well because Heather has family close to both of the offices. So when I had to work in the Eugene office she could then go visit her family in Oakland, OR and while I was in Portland she and the kids could be in Longview, WA at her parents house. This worked very well in theory. I ended up having to do a lot of driving and didn’t really get everything I wanted to get accomplished while visiting.
However we did get a chance to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her family in which we haven’t seen some of them in over a year. That was nice. I had a good time throughing back the beers with my brother-in-law and doing a little gaming.
We decided to make the drive back on Sat. night which turned out really good. We made the trip in 9 hours, which is hauling ass. I was really dreading the drive but with the kids asleep all night it was a lot less stressful then it would have been in the day.
All in all I had a really good time up there, but the cold I brought back sux! It’s no fun to be sick…

The snow is coming

I’m just putting a little up here to recognize that Ski season is almost here. So it’s only a matter of time until I break out the skis, wax em up, and hit the slopes. I didn’t get to go at all last year which really sucked because it was one of the best snow years in a long time for Tahoe. Hopefully it will be another really good season this year. I’ve got the fever, just waiting on mother nature to do her part now!

CS: Source

Last night I was back on Counter Strike after about a month of not gaming. I had a blast. I was expecting to not do so well because it’s been awhile but that was not the case. I had like 27 kills on the one map. So for those of you that game with me I’ll see ya on Vent. Be prepared to be pwned!
